Australian company claims sabotage by Phillipines anti-mining lobby 0

An Australian mining company says the anti-mining lobby in the Philippines attempted to sabotage its operations in 2006.

Lafayette Mining Incorporated is about to resume production on the island of Rapu Rapu after the lifting of a 15 month ban.

The Philippines Government ordered Lafayette to shut-down its gold, silver and copper mine on Rapu Rapu island after a discharge of polluted waste which it has now rectified. Read the rest of this entry →

has commenced drilling on its San Lucas Property 80 km north of Durango in
the State of Durango, Mexico.

Court upholds $4 million verdict against Tulsa gas drilling company 0

DENVER The Colorado Court of Appeals is upholding a four (m) million-dollar jury verdict against an Oklahoma gas-drilling company.

Tulsa-based Williams Production Company was ordered in 2004 to pay the award to a rancher who said he hadn’t been paid all the natural gas royalties he was due.Williams appealed the verdict and argued that some evidence was improperly excluded and that there were flaws in the jury instructions and in calculations of damages owed to William Clough (klow).Clough owned 12-thousand acres and was earning about three (m) million dollars a year in royalties Read the rest of this entry →

DENVER (AP) — The Colorado Court of Appeals on Thursday upheld a $4 million jury award to a western Colorado sheep rancher who argued a natural-gas drilling company had not paid him all the royalties he was due over several years.

New nickel mine discovered in Dominican Republic 0

TORONTO, ONTARIO.- The Canadian GlobeStar Mining Corporation has announced the new discovery of nickel bearing laterites at Loma Mala in the Dominican Republic.

According to a press release dated 9 February, Loma Mala has previously never been drilled and is located 1.5 kilometres southwest of GlobeStar’s Cumpie Hill nickel laterite discovery and less than 8.5 kilometres from Xstrata’s Falcondo nickel smelter in the central part of the country.
